Oat Worthy

There is something to love about a well made granola, full of texture and salty-sweetness. What is even better is a homemade variety. Addicting Crunch & Munch like crack mix that should not be reserved solely for trails! No. I think snack time, breakfast, or anytime warrants this stuff. We’re going to toast-up some organic…

Mmmm, Grandma’s molasses! My dad used to call it sewer water.

This looks beautiful. I love homemade granola, and I’ve never thought of using molasses instead of honey. I’m going to try this out next time. Thanks!

I am not a fan of store bought granola, but the homemade one is another story. Looks healthy and tasty indeed.

Homemade granola is the best! Yours look divine – and so pretty with the red cranberries! :)

yum! this looks so good and healthy!

The granola is in the oven and wow does it smell good! Here is my adaptation: Did’t have cranberries on hand so I’ve opted for raisins (will try cranberries next time around for sure) and I gave some heat to the oil, molasses, vanilla and brown sugar until the brown sugar was melted, just to make it easier to mix all the ingredients together. Thanks for the recipe! It’s a winner!

Thank you all! I already ate all of mine and onto another batch, but am going to use dried cherries this time. It’s addicting! Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

It’s really the best granola recipe I’ve ever made. I was searching for something like this all the time. Thanks for sharing!

Just an update! I continue to make this year-round and store in an airtight jar. I occasionally change-it up by adding some healthy sesame seeds into the mix and substituting dried cherries for the cranberries. Both very good.

You are what you cook with. So, I guess that makes me titanium ceramic! Well, unfortunately not literally, but the old adage really isn’t that far from truth. What you cook with, or on in this case, essentially affects what you eat; therefore, you! There are many high quality, non-stick cookware lines out there. Non-stick…

Easter egg, chicken, potato salad…

Finally. Easter is approaching and what better way to embody spring goodness than with eggs?! (Perhaps carrots, but that’s an entirely different post…) I am a true egg salad fan. Not the questionable kind, pre-made at the grocery store that comes gratis with your sandwich. Instead a truly fresh version, non mustard/mayonnaise/relish drenched, egg salad….

I love this idea of combining all the best salads into one! It’ll put all the other BBQ side dishes to shame :)

Just a thought, but you could add some of the EASTER EGGS that you have colored with your children/grandchildren, etc., and add some color to the salad. Every year, I make “Easter Egg” sandwiches with the colored eggs. What makes it special is that the eggs have color that has “bled” through the shells, to color the whites of the eggs. Makes the sandwiches magical. :)

I’m not Italian Wedding Soup

I may not be Italian or at a wedding, but I am plesantly full. Luckily due to a delicious pot of simmering soup I made this afternoon. As the windy storm graced us full speed, I jumped to bust-out my soup pot. Sundays are my favorite for cooking something, which may be too involved for…

happy meal me

Well, maybe not with mystery nuggets in a card board box, but we’re going to take a PG-13 approach to the idea of a happy meal, and there will be no drive through required. Here is my adult take on crispy chicken fingers & ketchup. Is fried chicken delicious? Heck yeah! Is it healthy? Not…
